On Saturday June 7th, 2008 we celebrated the careers of Aaron Galonsky and Ed Kashy with a symposium focusing on the successful careers of NSCL alumni.

We tried to contact all NSCL graduate student and postdoc alumni and invited them to the symposium. Over NSCl alumni, current NSCL faculty, staff and students as well as the Physics & Astronomy REU students participated in the symposium. A list of external participants, the symposium program, and some of the talks are available online.

Also, we have posted pictures from the meeting, and the dinner thanks to Thomas Baumann and Akos Horvath. You can also find some of the "historic" pictures shown at the dinner, thanks to Joe Finck and others.

We also used the occasion to start an alumni website listing all former NSCL students, postdocs, faculty and visitors. If you are an NSCL alumn (we also invite former REU and other undergraduate students) and would your information to be included please fill out the short sign-up form.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Raman Anantaraman
Chasity Fudella
Barb Pollack
Michael Thoennessen
