Conference Information:

ENAM98 was held in Bellaire, Michigan from June 23 to June 27 , 1998. The conference site was Shanty Creek Resort located on a hilltop in scenic northern Michigan.

The conference was well attended with 288 total participants. There were a significant number of students and young scientists; 42 students and 25 postdocs.

ENAM98 was the second conference in the series that started in Arles, France in 1995. The meeting in Arles represented the merger of the former Nuclei Far From Stability conference and the Atomic Masses and Fundamental Constants conference.

Topics of the conference included:

• Atomic masses and fundamental constants
• Moments and radii
• Nuclear spectroscopy and nuclear shapes
• Cluster aspects of nuclei
• Drip-line nuclei and their structure
• Heaviest elements
• Fission
• Forms of radioactivity
• Fundamental measurements from nuclear decay studies
• The role of unstable nuclei in the Cosmos
• Experimental developments and radioactive beams
