Special Events

Special Events will include:

  • A welcome reception on Sunday evening will be held between a session to honor the Nishina Foundation's support of nuclear physics in Japan and a memorial session for Hans A. Bethe.
  • A Companions Get-Together (with refreshments) during the Plenary Session.
  • Aloha hu'olaule'a on Wednesday evening, 21 September, following the afternoon town meetings and student poster session. Aloha hu'olaule'a" translates very loosely into big party. The hotel does not offer a luau as was enjoyed by most at Hawaii 2001. Instead, our hu'olaule'a will be something similar in style to the Hawaii 2001 opening reception and will be held in an area adjacent to the ocean beach at the Ritz-Carlton. In addition to food and an opportunity to see all the Hawaii 2005 participants who have been in sessions other than those you have attended, there will be limited entertainment and a traditional Hawaiian punch. The cost will be $50.00.

Please note the appropriate boxes to complete in the registration process.
