experiment, theory, and observations. With this second
circular we wish
to inform you about some of the organizational details.
There are two forms to fill out at the bottom of this message.
Please
fill out the lodging form as soon as possible and send it back
(address
below). Deadline is September 1, but an earlier response would
be much
appreciated.
Once you have made your final travel
arrangements and need transportation
from your arrival airport (Kalamazoo
or Lansing), please fill out the
transportation form so that we can start
to organize transportation.
If you need special arrangements for
access to the facilities or for
participating in the program, please let
us know as soon as possible.

Workshop Schedule and Program
--------------------------------
The
workshop will begin the evening of Sunday, October 6, 2002 at 5pm with
a
dinner and a "after dinner" introductory session. The workshop ends
late in the afternoon on Tuesday, October 8.
The scientific
program and the selection of talks will be completed
in the near future.
A poster session is being considered. You will
receive another mailing as
soon as the program is finalized.
We would like to point out that
the APS/DNP (American Physical Society/
Division of Nuclear Physics)
meeting in East Lansing starts on October 9, 2002
with another one day
workshop "Nuclear Astrophysics far from stability",
organized
by Hendrik Schatz and Michael Wiescher. You might want to
consider to
extend your stay for that workshop, or the APS/DNP meeting.

Biological Station combines a modern conference center with
the intimate
setting of the Kellogg Manor House, the stately former summer
estate of
cereal maker W.K. Kellog and is located at the banks of beautiful

Lake.

KBS is
located in southwest Michigan, about 18 miles northeast of Kalamazoo.

We will try to organize some transportation from
Kalamazoo and

5. Lodging

Participants will stay
in rooms at the Kellogg Biological Station. Single,
double, triple, and
quadruple rooms are available. Please fill out the
lodging form at the
end of this message to make a reservation. Lodging at
KBS is only available
for the duration of the workshop (2 nights from
October 6-8).

Travel Support
-----------------
The Joint Institute for
Nuclear Astrophysics will cover your
local costs for accomodation (2
nights, for the duration of the workshop,
at the level of a double
occupancy room). Single rooms are available at an
additional cost of $13
per night. There will be no conference fee.
