Dear JPS and DNP Members : The the Third Joint JPS/DNP Meeting was held Oct. 13-17, 2009 on Hawaii's Big Island at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. Over 1000 scientists and students were in attendance. Details of the meeting and organization can be found through the links on the left.

Special Events:
On Wednesday October 14th at 17:00 in Kona 2&3 the Committee on the Status of Women in Physics and the Japanese Physical Society hosted a late lunch/dinner featuring an address by Masako Bando (former President of the JPS). Tickets are required for the dinner. The lunch was organized by Sherry Yennello (yennello at science . tamu . edu).
Welcome Reception and Registration:
A welcome reception was held on Tuesday October 13 in the Lagoon Lanai starting at 19:00.
PRC/PRL Meet the Editors Function:
A drop-in function was hosted by Physical Review C and Physical Review Letters in the Grand Promenade between 13:00 and 15:00 on Friday October 16th. All Hawaii 2009 participants are invited to join.
