Cosmic Ray Detector Project

| PAN Home |
The teachers and students will work on a collaborative project to construct a cosmic ray detector designed by Lawrence Berkeley Labs. The detectors, described more fully below, consist of twin scintillation paddles, photomultiplier tubes and associated electronics, and detects incident cosmic rays. Due to the complexity of the task and the short time-frame, the work will be done collaboratively with groups responsible for either scintillation paddle preparation, electronics or construction/testing of the detectors.

The detectors will be used by different teacher/student research groups to explore different kinds Physics experiments studying cosmic rays.
