heading: welcome

As you might have guessed from the title, this is a site about cosmic rays. Specifically: what they are, where they come from, and how they are detected.

This site was developed for high school students who will visit the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory, or NSCL, and perform a cosmic ray experiment. If you're a student, welcome! You can pick up plenty of information about the intergalactic world of cosmic rays. If you've just stumbled upon this site, welcome all the same! Go ahead and explore -- that's what science is about.

The how are they detected? page contains some multimedia elements. You will need Adobe Flash Player and a video player (Quicktime works well) in order to view and use them.
