The NSCL User Workshop, organized by the
NSCL Users' Executive Committee, will start at 1 PM on Saturday 27, and end
by 3 PM on Sunday September 28. The program will include talks on the
status of the major experimental equipment and presentations of results from
recent experiments performed at the Coupled Cyclotron Facility of the NSCL.
There will also be substantial time set aside to foster experimental
collaborations and have detailed discussions among users before the deadline
for the submission of proposals for the next PAC meeting. (The time table for
the PAC 27 meeting is: Call for Proposals sent out on August 15, 2003;
Proposals due at the NSCL on October 23, 2003; and PAC meeting on December
12-13, 2003.) We have chosen the starting time of the
Workshop to make it convenient for those attending the 6th International
Conference on Radioactive Nuclear Beams that will be held at Argonne,
Illinois (September 22-26) to reach Lansing on Saturday morning either by
driving or by taking the morning flight (United flight 7293). We are also
willing to coordinate rides from Argonne and back to the Chicago area. Please
let us know if you are looking for a ride or are willing to provide a ride. The Users' Executive Committee solicits
your input on the topics to be discussed at the Workshop. Please send your
comments to the Chair of the Committee, Jeff
Winger. To register on-line for the Workshop,
please fill out and submit the registration.
Housing information is posted at accommodations.
