This year's NSCL User Workshop will start on the morning of Wednesday May 31 and end on the afternoon of Friday June 2, 2006.

The Workshop will focus on both the mid- and long-term future of radioactive beam physics at the NSCL and in the U.S. (Background information on national developments can be found at the NSAC website and at the RISAC website RESAC website.) We want to engage our users in a dialog about the future of the field and how we can best serve their interests. The laboratory is seriously evaluating its options and is now at a stage where input from interested users will be most useful. Clearly the user community needs to be actively involved in the discussions on how to best move the science of rare isotope research forward. The Workshop will provide a forum for discussions of the future NSCL upgrade options as well as of the physics issues that can and should be addressed at the NSCL in the next few years. Additional details of the format of the workshop are given in the Announcement.

The Users' Executive Committee solicits your suggestions for making the workshop scientifically more productive for NSCL users. Please send your comments to the Chair of the Committee, William Walters. To register on-line for the Workshop, please fill out and submit the registration. Housing information is posted at accommodations.
